Traffic Court Records in Rio Blanco County
Jurisdiction over a traffic case follows the issuer and the court, nothing else. A Meeker Police citation returnable to Council Chambers belongs to Meeker Municipal Court. State Patrol and Deputy Sheriff citations land in Rio Blanco County Court. Rangely town-code matters can run through its municipal channel. State and county tickets go through the Combined or Associate Court system. Where you live, and where you happen to open the record, never decide custody.
The Clerk of Court, Rio Blanco Combined Court holds the state County Court traffic files. Town clerks keep municipal citation records. County Court traffic entries usually carry class T. Local R or M codes can show up for related county-level matters. The free state docket lists the hearing, time, appearance method, and courtroom. It does not show the full charge narrative, any filed order, or driver history.
Route Rio Blanco Traffic Records
Read the citation face as one set of clues. It carries the issuing agency, court name, address, payment amount, and appearance date. That page is your first routing tool. Meeker town citations point to 345 Market Street. State cases use the Rio Blanco County Court layer at Meeker or Rangely. In Rangely, 209 E. Main serves both town and state functions. So the address alone cannot tell you the custodian. The Rangely municipal code confirms that town-code violations can be enforced in municipal court.
That code creates the town layer but posts no case-search form, hearing calendar, or fine schedule. So pick up the phone. Call Town Hall at 970-675-8476 for a Rangely town citation; call the state Associate Court at 970-675-2342 for a Judicial T, M, or R case.
How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket
State ticket? Use the free filtered Rio Blanco hearing docket. Pick the right courthouse, County Court, date range, and class T when those controls appear. Search by year and sequence or by party, then match the full case number. Duplicate name rows are common in the official results. So never count rows to identify a case.
Meeker and Rangely offer no official municipal citation database. The citation itself, a phone call or email, or the town counter is the fallback there. For state court, the fallback channels include the Judicial docket, the unified clerk by phone or email, the Meeker or Rangely counter, an approved ROA vendor, and the Record/Document Request Form for the filed ticket or order.
- Read the issuer, named court, address, case or citation number, and deadline.
- For County Court, search Rio Blanco, the right courthouse, date range, and class T.
- Match the complete number and record the time, hearing type, appearance mode, and courtroom.
- For a municipal ticket, contact the named town clerk because no web lookup is published.
- Call or visit the correct counter when a new ticket or changed setting is missing.
Rio Blanco Traffic Search Fields
Each channel wants different clues. The Colorado docket is date-led and free to view. Meeker and Rangely municipal channels are offline-first, so the printed citation is the index. Do not invent a date-of-birth requirement or assume a town ticket will surface in the statewide search.
Reach for the most exact identifier you have. A full court case number beats a name alone, especially when a calendar repeats a party across several events.
| Channel | Fields or Identifiers | Access Note |
|---|---|---|
| Judicial Docket Search | County, courthouse, County Court, date range, year, T class, sequence, party or attorney | Free calendar, not a full case history |
| Meeker municipal | Issuer, court address, amount, receipt date, citation and person details | No official web lookup found |
| Rangely municipal | Court and issuer printed on citation, plus citation and person details | Confirm with Town Hall |
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
The citation may list the first appearance date. But a later notice, minute order, or reset can replace it. For state cases, match the number in the Judicial docket and note the latest setting. Check whether the appearance is in person or virtual. Meeker town court ordinarily meets the fourth Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. That monthly pattern never overrides an individual summons or continuance. A Colorado state case number blends year, class, and sequence, like 2024-T-#####. A reset is not a dismissal. When two sources disagree, the latest court-issued notice and direct word from the named clerk control.
| Case Number | Complete year, T class, and sequence for the state citation case |
|---|---|
| Court | Meeker Municipal, Rangely municipal, or Rio Blanco County Court |
| Date and Time | Current appearance, advisement, plea, motions, or trial setting |
| Appearance | IN PERSON or VIRTUAL when the state docket displays a method |
| Courtroom | Meeker A or B, or Rangely Courtroom 2 for displayed state settings |
Rio Blanco Virtual Traffic Hearings
The Rio Blanco virtual courtroom list covers Meeker Courtrooms A and B plus Rangely Courtroom 2. A public observation link does not authorize a party to appear by Webex. Prior approval is required. Watching a stream does not count as appearing, and it can trigger failure-to-appear consequences.
Confirm the latest docket entry and courtroom first. Then ask the clerk whether virtual appearance is approved in that specific traffic case. Use only the code for the assigned room and join as instructed. If the setting was reset or moved, an older virtual link does not revive the former date.
Note: The docket's appearance field and the court's approval must agree before a remote traffic appearance counts as authorized.
Paying or Contesting a Ticket
Paying a ticket and fighting it are two different roads. A payable Meeker infraction can go through Town Hall. But if no amount is printed, you must appear. At the counter or the night depository, the Town takes cash, check, or money order. Credit cards are not accepted. County Court fines follow the Ninth District collection instructions instead. Want to contest it? Respond to the court named on the citation in time. A hearing or trial setting may follow.
No local defensive-driving or deferred-disposition schedule is published. Ask the right court about options for your case. Meeker's payment rules do not travel to Rangely. A town rule never governs a County Court citation.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Follow the amount and court on the citation | Respond to that court by its stated date |
| May resolve a payable matter as the court records it | Leads to a plea process and possible hearing or trial |
| Use only methods published by that custodian | Confirm whether the response must be written or in person |
| Keep proof of payment and the case number | Keep the summons and every later setting notice |
Missed traffic setting: Do not treat livestream viewing as appearance. Contact the named court at once because a court may address failure to appear and can issue a warrant in the case.
Rio Blanco Meeker Traffic Payments
The Meeker Municipal Court page lays out one narrow deal for qualifying town traffic infractions paid within 20 days. Plead guilty by paying on time and your three- or four-point assessment drops by two points. A two-point assessment drops by one. Criminal traffic is excluded, and so are nontraffic offenses. The citation must list a payable amount. If it does not, appearance is required.
Meeker's official page limits that reduction to municipal citations only. It does not extend to State Patrol, sheriff, County Court, or Rangely cases.
Town Hall takes payments on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Can't make it during the day? A 24-hour night depository sits at the east parking-lot entrance. Drop your payment there and keep a copy. The page never says when a deposit counts as legally received, though, so if the 20-day rule applies, confirm receipt with the clerk.
Rio Blanco Traffic Filing Counts
State figures for FY2024 logged 109 County Court traffic filings across Rio Blanco's two locations. Meeker accounted for 67. That covers 14 DUI filings, 6 driving-under-suspension or related filings, 1 habitual traffic offender filing, and 46 motor-vehicle matters. Rangely posted 42, made up of 8 DUI, 4 suspension-related, and 30 motor-vehicle filings. Neither location reported any DWAI filings in that table.
Read the numbers with care. They are state County Court filings, not Meeker or Rangely Municipal Court counts. And filings are not people, convictions, or open cases. The totals simply show why both town channels matter in a Rio Blanco docket search. The Rio Blanco County government site is a county resource. It is separate from the Judicial hearing docket.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
Two offices keep two different files. The Rio Blanco court record holds the citation, the charge, court events, the plea, the outcome, settings, and court payment entries. Colorado DMV keeps the state driver record separately. A court may report a conviction to DMV. But the clerk does not issue the driver file.
Paying off the court case will not lift a DMV restraint by itself. When appropriate, the court can hand you a paid or compliance receipt. Reinstatement stays with DMV. Knowing the split keeps your request from landing on the wrong desk.
| Court Custodian | Rio Blanco Clerk of Court or the named municipal clerk |
|---|---|
| Court File | Citation, plea, settings, orders, disposition, and court payment |
| State Custodian | Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles |
| State File | Reported convictions, points, license history, and restraints |
Rio Blanco Rangely Traffic Records
Rangely posts no municipal citation portal, fine chart, court calendar, or document-request form. Read the citation, then call Town Hall at 970-675-8476 or email town@rangelyco.gov. Keep the citation number, the cited person's name, the issuer, the issue date, the appearance date, and the named court at hand. Those are preparation tips, not required fields.
For a state T case, use the Judicial docket. Pick Rio Blanco County Associate Court. The state clerk answers at 970-675-2342 or RBCtyRangely@judicial.state.co.us. Walk-in state hours run Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday adds 8:00 a.m. to noon. Town Hall's wider schedule does not open the state court.
Rio Blanco Traffic Court Boundaries
State traffic cases never land in a federal docket. The District of Colorado CM/ECF page explains the federal filing and docket system.
CM/ECF is not a substitute for the Rio Blanco state hearing docket, the County Court clerk, or a municipal citation channel. A routine local traffic citation stays with the court printed on the summons.
The boundary helps when search results surface similarly named systems. Colorado Courts E-Filing is a filing service too, not a public ticket database. For an ordinary Rio Blanco traffic matter, go back to the citation, the state docket for a T case, or the named town clerk.
Rio Blanco Missing Traffic Records
A brand-new citation may not show up in a date-led calendar right away. It might be municipal. It might sit at the other Rio Blanco courthouse, or be filed under a different date range. A blank result does not erase the response date on the summons. Check the full number, issuer, court name, case class, and later pages of results.
Still nothing? Call the named clerk before the deadline. Ask whether the citation has been filed. Ask whether the setting moved, and which case number now controls. For a state matter, an approved vendor ROA gives the chronology. The clerk can supply the filed ticket or order. For a town matter, use Meeker or Rangely contact channels, not the statewide record form.
No amount printed: Meeker's official rule treats the absence of a payment amount as a required appearance, so call the municipal clerk instead of guessing.
Fees and Copies
Copy costs for traffic files at Rio Blanco County Court follow the statewide Judicial schedule. Decide first what you need: the ticket, the ROA, the disposition, or a sentence order. Say whether it must be certified. A free calendar hit is not a certified court record. Order the copy if you need proof. Meeker and Rangely set their own municipal charges. The town clerks post no published copy fees, so ask each clerk directly before ordering.
State records move through several channels. File the official Record/Document Request Form. Or call 970-878-5622, email RBCtyMeeker@judicial.state.co.us, stop at the counter, or mail the Combined Court. The clerk sends fulfillment instructions along with the payment details when the request goes through.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Single-sided state-court copy | $0.25 per page | Plain copy |
| Double-sided state-court copy | $0.50 per page | Plain copy |
| Certified or exemplified copy | $20 per document | Specify each item |
| Name search | $5 | Case number can avoid a broad search |
| Research after first hour | $30 per hour | Billed in 15-minute units |
Rio Blanco Traffic Payment Proof
After paying, keep three things together: the receipt, the case number, and the court name. Mailing a County Court payment? The Ninth District instructions want a check or money order, never cash. Write your name and case number in. Rangely state-court payments by phone run through 970-625-2342, and the published collections-investigator line is 970-878-6104.
A receipt shows what the court accepted, nothing more. It cannot undo a hearing already missed. It also cannot prove some other agency finished a step of its own. Read the ROA or ask the clerk. Either way shows how payment and disposition were entered on the docket. Is a hearing still set? Trust the latest court notice over the bare fact that you paid.
Note: Each town sets its own municipal payment rules. Rio Blanco County Court instructions do not transfer to a Meeker or Rangely town citation.
